Chiropractor for Stoney Creek Residents

Stoney Creek has grown into one of the busiest corners of Hamilton, full of young families, trades and shift workers, and people who spend their weekends on the escarpment trails. MMD Chiropractic Health Centre is on the other side of the city in Westdale, and a steady number of our patients make the trip across town because of how we work. It is an easy run along the highway or the lower city.

Living in the east end keeps you active whether you plan to or not. There are the climbs around the Devil's Punchbowl, the Bruce Trail along the brow, the kids' sports on weekends, and plenty of physical jobs in between. All of that adds up in the body. We are here for the sore lower backs, the tweaked shoulders and the stubborn neck pain that comes with a full life.

Conditions we treat for Stoney Creek patients

Dr. Marnie works with patients from the very young to the very old, across a wide range of musculoskeletal and soft tissue concerns. From Stoney Creek we frequently see:

  • Lower back pain, including pain from lifting, shift work and manual jobs
  • Sciatica and pinched nerve symptoms running into the leg
  • Neck pain, stiffness and related headaches
  • Sports injuries in kids, teens and adult weekend athletes
  • Shoulder injuries, a particular focus for Dr. Marnie
  • Foot and lower limb pain that may benefit from a custom orthotic

Why Stoney Creek families trust MMD

For families, two things stand out. We do not rush, so when you bring yourself or your child in, the assessment gets the time it needs and nobody feels hurried through. And we treat the cause, not just the symptom, which is what keeps pain from circling back a few weeks later.

That matters most when you are juggling work, kids and everything else, because the last thing you want is to keep treating the same problem over and over. Getting to the actual source is what finally breaks that cycle.

Dr. Marnie Mabee D'Andrea has cared for this region for more than 22 years. She has a deep background in athletic care, having worked with national and world level athletes and the medical teams behind major local races and the Pan Am Games. She is also certified in the FMS and SFMA movement screening systems. Whether it is a parent's chronic back pain or a young athlete's first real injury, that range of experience comes in handy.

What to expect on your first visit

It starts with listening. We go through your history, what brings on the pain, what eases it, and what your days look like, including work and sport. From there Dr. Marnie completes a hands on assessment and, where useful, a functional movement screen to see how you actually move.

You will leave knowing what is going on and what the plan is, built around what you want to get back to. An x-ray is not required to be assessed, though in certain cases, such as a history of trauma or a first severe episode later in life, we may suggest imaging to confirm the diagnosis.

Frequently asked questions from Stoney Creek patients

Do you treat children and teens?

Yes. Dr. Marnie treats patients of all ages, from the very young to the very old, including young athletes dealing with their first sports injuries. Care is always matched to the patient in front of us.

Can chiropractic help my work related back pain?

Often, yes, especially with the lifting and repetitive strain that comes with trades and shift work. We treat the immediate pain and look at what is driving it so it is less likely to keep returning.

How far is the clinic from Stoney Creek?

We are across the city in Westdale. Most patients come over via the highway or the lower city. Travel time depends on where in Stoney Creek you start and on traffic.

Do I need a referral to book?

No. A referral is not required to see a chiropractor in Ontario. Your extended health plan may request one before reimbursing, so check your coverage to be sure.

Book Your Appointment
