Chiropractic care just down the road
Dundas and Westdale practically share a backyard, so MMD Chiropractic Health Centre is one of the closest clinics you will find to the Valley Town. We are beside the Runners Den on King Street West, which is a quick trip whether you are coming from downtown Dundas, up near the Driving Park, or off one of the streets that climb toward the escarpment.
Dundas attracts people who like to move. The trails to Webster's Falls and Tews Falls, the climb up to Dundas Peak, the cyclists grinding up the Sydenham hill, the runners doing loops through the valley. All of that is wonderful for your health and occasionally hard on your joints. When a hike leaves your knee complaining or a long ride tightens up your lower back, it helps to have someone nearby who understands active bodies.
Common reasons Dundas residents come in
Dr. Marnie treats a broad range of musculoskeletal and soft tissue issues in patients of every age. The ones we see most often from Dundas include:
- Lower back pain, including the kind that creeps in after a day in the garden or on the trails
- Sciatica and other pinched nerve symptoms that radiate down the leg
- Neck pain and headaches tied to posture and screen time
- Knee, ankle and foot pain in hikers, runners and cyclists
- Shoulder problems, an area Dr. Marnie has a particular interest in
- General stiffness and loss of mobility that makes everyday movement feel harder than it should
Why Dundas patients keep coming back
People in Dundas tend to value the personal touch, and that is exactly how we work. We never rush your assessment or your treatment. You get the time it takes to actually understand the problem, which means you are not left guessing about what is wrong or why.
We also look past the symptom. If your back hurts, the goal is to find out why it hurts and address that, rather than simply quieting the pain for a day or two. For an active community like Dundas, that difference matters, because the aim is to get you back to the things you love and keep you there.
Dr. Marnie has spent more than two decades caring for this community. Alongside her clinical work she has been deeply involved in local athletics, from the Around the Bay Road Race to the Hamilton marathon, where she spent years as a medical coordinator. She is also certified in FMS and SFMA, movement assessment systems that help pinpoint why a body is moving the way it is. That background fits the Dundas crowd well.
Your first appointment
We begin by listening. Dr. Marnie wants to hear when the issue began, what aggravates it, and what your usual week looks like, including your sport and your work. A hands on assessment follows, and often a functional movement screen so we can see how you move rather than guess.
By the end of that first visit you will understand what is happening and what the plan looks like. No x-ray is needed to be assessed, although there are specific situations, such as a history of trauma, where we might recommend imaging before going further.

Frequently asked questions from Dundas patients
How close is the clinic to Dundas?
Very close. We are in Westdale, essentially the next neighbourhood over, usually under ten minutes by car from most of Dundas.
Can chiropractic help after a hiking or running injury?
It often can. Chiropractors treat the joints of the spine and the rest of the body too, including knees, ankles and hips. Dr. Marnie has worked with everyone from recreational hikers to elite athletes and focuses on getting you back to your pre-injury level.
Do you only treat the area that hurts?
No. We look for the cause. Sometimes the place that hurts is not where the problem starts, which is why the assessment and the movement screen matter so much.
Do I need a doctor's referral first?
Not to see us. A referral is not required to see a chiropractor in Ontario, though your insurance plan may ask for one before reimbursing, so check your coverage.
Book Your Appointment
You do not need a referral to see a chiropractor in Ontario, so you can book directly. New patients from Dundas are welcome, and we will always take the time to understand your history before we start any treatment.
